St. Louis Operations has an immediate opening for a Field Engineering Assistant (FEA). Under general supervision, the Field Engineering Assistant provides complete administrative and technical support to a team of Field Engineering Consultants.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent’s main responsibility is to assist our field consultants in maximizing their time with our clients while developing positive relationships with consultants, Group Manager Field Engineering (GMFE),
Manager Office Engineering and Training (MOET), Operations Engineering Manager (OEM), and Engineering Processing Manager (EPM).
The Field Engineering Assistant will organize, prioritize, plan efficient travel and schedule client visits for a team of field consultants. FEAs maintain individual field consultants daily work calendars by ensuring there is an efficient and balanced workload. The FEA will run reports, ensure visit orders are completed, closed, and may distribute letters as advised by field consultants. The FEAs are the liaisons between the office and Engineering field staff.
Incumbents interact with clients and brokers daily. In many cases, they are the first contact that local site managers have with FM Global/AFM. Incumbents require strong customer service skills.
Incumbents are tasked in the field operations to support engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years administrative experience supporting a work group and/or manager. Project coordination experience preferred!
- Excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Strong problem-solving capability
- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal and communication skills; oral and written
- Ability to multi-task
- 4 year College Degree/Bachelors or equivalent work experience
This role requires simultaneous attention to many details, evaluating complex situations, and the ability to work with FM Global employees and clients. Excellent language skills, both oral and written are necessary. Much time is spent contacting clients to schedule client visits for the field consultants. The successful candidate is detail oriented and has excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
