The Seattle Office currently has an open position for an Account Engineer I
On an account wide and corporate basis, the Account Engineer coordinates and manages the delivery of FM Global engineering resources and servicing to our clients. The Account Engineer will review global risk information and accurately evaluate and assess the nature, probability, and severity of loss potential. This assessment is communicated to the client/prospect and client service team. The Account Engineer will prioritize exposures identified through the risk assessment process and ensure that the client understands the hazard and risk associated with these exposures and will work with the client to gain agreement on effective risk improvement solutions. As a key member of the Client Service Team, the Account Engineer contributes to the execution of the Client Service Process. These contributions include assisting in development and implementation of Client Service Strategies and Plans and preparing and presenting Stewardship presentations. Through teamwork with FM Global field engineers, client services personnel, claims, new business development, business risk consulting group, etc., the Account Engineer coordinates the delivery of FM Global engineering products/services in support of client goals and objectives with an overall goal of fostering long-term client relationships.
The position requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent experience. Qualified internal candidates must be an FM Global Senior Consultant Engineer or higher. External candidates with equivalent industry experience may be considered. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years experience in facility hazards field engineering and loss prevention consulting experience. A basic understanding of equipment hazards and/or additional field experience is a plus.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, along with the ability to analyze data and develop risk assessment/risk improvement plans. The applicant must also have proven negotiation skills, be team oriented and decisive, with excellent problem-solving skills. Effective organization and time management skills are also very important.
