Overview:

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for conducting risk-based, loss-control focused, in-service inspections of boilers and pressure vessels. This is a resident position that is located in Pennsylvania (Central & Western, PA) with Indiana county being centrally located in the service group. The position would be responsible for jurisdictional inspections at FM Global clients in Pennsylvania but may involve approximately 15-20% travel outside that area. The inspections are conducted in accordance with applicable jurisdictional laws and regulations, The National Board Inspection Code, the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and FM Global procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Depending on an individual's experience and other factors, the consultant will have a BS in Engineering, an associate degree from a 2-year technical school, or a high school diploma. The individual must have a National Board (NB) In-service Commission. Additional NB commissions or endorsements, and certificates of competency in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, or New York are a plus.

Experience: The essential experience for this position is that required by the current National Board rules for commissioned inspectors in order to acquire the in-service NB commission. Experience in general boiler and pressure vessel construction, maintenance, and inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment, understanding of maintenance management systems and good understanding of NDE methods and results are vital. Experience with Jurisdiction Online software is a plus!
