Schedule & Location:
This position is based in Johnston, RI and follows a hybrid work model. Employee is expected to be working out of the office 50% of the time with the flexibility to work from home 50% of the time. Mondays and Tuesdays are required on-site days, weekly.
Responsibilities:
In this position, the Accountant will perform complex routine and non-routine accounting work including compilation, consolidation, or analysis of financial statements. This is to support management decision-making regarding the company's loss reserves for continuing lines of business. This position will be responsible for monthly GAAP reporting of loss activity and quarterly statutory reporting of loss activity.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting is required.
Highly Preferred Education:
Professional certification (CPA, CMA) or master’s degree preferred!
Required Work Experience:
3-5+ years of general accounting/financial reporting experience (preferably in the insurance industry) is required.

5+ years of general accounting/financial reporting experience (preferably in the insurance industry) is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills, ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with financial systems and standard software applications including but not limited to; PeopleSoft, SAP; [Advanced] Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
The hiring range for this position is $76,200-$123,300 USD.
We are hiring for one of two levels for this role. Level 1 (Accountant III) will have 3-5 years of experience and the hiring range is $76,200-$109,500 USD, or a Level 2 (Accountant IV) will have 5+ years of experience and the hiring range is $85,800-$123,300 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
