Responsibilities:

The Associate Chapter Lead works as part of a product team to lead and inspire Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering staff, collaborate with architects to guide technology direction for the product, and works hands-on with the development, operations, and engineering staff to motivate and help ensure successful product delivery. As manager, leader and coach to Infrastructure and cloud engineering staff, the Associate Chapter Lead works to build and maximize the capabilities and skills of employees on the team, model knowledge sharing within the team, and acts as a catalyst in the development and growth of these individuals and the team. This role understands product strategic direction and backlog and evolves skills of team members and team composition to meet the current and future needs. The Associate Chapter Lead acts as practice leader and domain SME who engages with the product owner, solution architect, software engineers and experience designers, in addition to managing infrastructure and cloud engineering staff.

Develop technology skills and capabilities, and employee competencies, of chapter members. Set individual and team goals for chapter member development and growth, and measure progress.

Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Software Engineers and Experience Designs to influence product technology direction.

Remove organizational impediments to allow chapter members to contribute effectively and efficiently

Develop technology skills and capabilities, and employee competencies, of chapter members. Set individual and team goals for chapter member development and growth, and measure progress.

Qualifications:

Five Years Minimum Experience

  • Experience in evaluating technologies and running effective technology proof of concepts.
  • Experience interviewing, assessing and nurturing personnel.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing highly motivated technical workforce.
  • Experience influencing.
  • Experience creating high performing teams.
  • Domain Experience in one of the following areas: cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, data center transformation, modern workplace enablement, DevOps/Lean/Agile

Skills

  • Strong communication skills to provide guidance and education on new concepts and practices to chapter members
  • Ability to coach technical individuals on performance and skill development
  • Ability to resolve conflicts within and across teams
  • Ability to organize events (guild meetings, hackathons, technical debates) in the subject area
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of psychological safety through trust, openness and a generative culture while delivering significant business value
  • A strong bias for automation and taking think time to determine the right way to solve a problem versus band aids or quick fixes.
  • A solid foundational understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, remote/virtual desktop technology, cloud computing, as well as familiarity with DevOps Culture.
  • Experience leading through ambiguity and comfort with making decisions despite incomplete information and/or requirements.
