The Chapter Lead - Information Engineering acts as a technologist, practice leader, and manager who drives the evolution of area practices, operations, and talent development with a focus on enabling and supporting technology capabilities and product delivery.

The Chapter Lead:

Directly manages and supports Chapter members

Is responsible for Chapter composition and optimization against technology capability and product delivery needs

Leads practice development and disciplines in partnership with Technical Capabilities Product Owners and Chapter SMEs to create repeatable and scalable patterns, practices, and tools which best enable practice delivery

Manages Chapter skills and competency evolution, including: skills matrix and career path tree definition, as well as reporting on metrics associated with talent use and evolution

Identifies new relevant technology trends, tools, patterns and practices, and talent management frameworks which might advance, build, or maximize the capabilities, competencies, and skills of Chapter members

Engages with other leaders (Technical Product Owners, Business Product Owners, and Business Unit Leads) as Practice Lead to understand area directions, ensure alignment for support, and or act in an advisory capacity around relevant technologies, patterns and practices, and operations

Owns all other administrative responsibilities within the Chapter

Works with areas that deal with the generation, distribution, ingestion, processing, analysis, interpretation, classification, search, management or use of information (content, data, knowledge) or the structuring, development, and or management of information assets (models, components, graphs, logic, rules, and flow)

This includes:

  • Content, Knowledge, Search, Semantics, Vision, Speech, Language, and Decision Engineering
  • Information Systems Management and Operations


5-10 years of experience:

  • Experience in talent management including hiring and assessing, coaching, mentoring, and developing highly motivated technical talent.
  • Evaluating technologies
  • Running effective technology proof of concepts
  • Managing vendor relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies, concepts, and practices and enable and educate technical and non-technical talent, within the chapter and beyond
  • Validated ability to resolve issues within and across teams
  • Ability to organize events (e.g. theme meetings) and present in person and remote
  • Ability to engage and present to sr. and executive leadership
  • Ability to create operational processes and materials to ensure repeatable and consistent application of practices within chapter and beyond!
