Reporting to the Manager Information Security Oversight & Assurance, the Information Security Issue Remediation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the company’s effort to track, govern, report on, and reduce information security risks. This individual will partner with key business and technology stakeholders to track and/or modify remediation plans for the identified information security risks within their portfolio.

Serving as a trusted advisor to the business, this role will work with key partners to provide guidance, support, and help drive information security risk remediation efforts. Working closely with the impacted stakeholders to prioritize/implement risk management activities, this individual will be a key contributor in helping to reduce overall cybersecurity risks across the company.

The Information Security Issue Remediation Specialist will present key issues, progress, and potential roadblocks to Information Security & Risk leadership on a regular and proactive basis. Their direct involvement in the broader Information Security & Risk Management team will also elevate business leaders’ awareness of their security risk portfolio through monthly and quarterly reporting of key risk metrics.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Partner with departments/Operations as well as IT on risk remediation efforts. Help to ensure that risks are being remediated in accordance with previously agreed upon timeframes and/or ensure appropriate team members are made aware when remediation is overdue.

Drive discussions and provide guidance / support in managing and reducing information security risk remediation efforts across the business.

Track risks from various sources (analyzed based on impact and likelihood), track exceptions, and provide regular reporting of risk posture to senior leadership.

Collaborates with internal clients to support and drive implementation of broad security initiatives


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills! 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with technical experts, business managers, and senior leadership. 
  • Ability to understand security risk, compliance and technical issues and communicate into meaningful business and risk guidance and recommendation.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Cyber / information security / risk professional with the ability to think in terms of the risk rather than compliance, and risk improvement objectives rather than strict security requirements.
  • Strong relationship building, influencing, and consultation skills. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive work relationships with peers, management, and key partners.


  • 4 year college degree/bachelors in Information/Cyber Security, Risk, Computer Science or closely related field (or equivalent work experience)
