This position is open to candidates seeking remote opportunities.  Candidate must be open to periodic travel to headquarters located in Johnston, RI dependent on business needs. Must be willing to work EST hours. 

The Solution Architect - Hybrid Cloud is a critical technical role responsible for designing and implementing efficient, scalable, and secure hybrid cloud solutions to meet the diverse needs of our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of both on-premises infrastructure and leading cloud platforms and expertise in integrating and optimizing hybrid cloud environments. As a Solution Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to analyze requirements, develop architectural designs, and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

The Solution Architect collaborates with the Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, and Infrastructure Engineering Teams to prioritize and decompose Enterprise Architectural guidance into actionable team tasks. This role is responsible for evangelizing best practices, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing advice, mentorship, and oversight to ensure successful implementations that drive the growth of the APM strategy in the organization.


Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Solution Architect - Hybrid Cloud Focus: 

  • Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive hybrid cloud architectures that combine on-premises infrastructure with public and private cloud platforms. Ensure scalability, security, availability, and performance per project requirements.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Possess strong knowledge and experience with leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Recommend and implement suitable cloud solutions based on project needs and cost-effectiveness.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and infrastructure teams on best practices for designing, implementing, and managing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Integration and Connectivity: Design and implement integration strategies to connect on-premises systems with cloud services, ensuring seamless data flow and secure connectivity between environments.
  • Security and Compliance: Assess and address security and compliance requirements for hybrid cloud solutions, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies for hybrid cloud deployments, including workload placement, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
  • Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain detailed architecture documents, diagrams, and technical specifications. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Industry Trends and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hybrid cloud architectures. Leverage this knowledge to improve solution offerings continuously.

Qualifications:

Qualifications 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Strong expertise in hybrid cloud architectures, including integration of on-premises infrastructure with public and private cloud platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including their services and capabilities.
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies, such as virtualization, networking, storage, and security.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and proficiency in architectural modeling tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect Certified: Azure Solutions Architect

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience and training.
  • Advanced degrees and certifications are desirable.

The hiring range for this position is $110,900 to $182,300. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
