The Manager of Events is responsible for developing and leading the organization’s global event strategy, infrastructure and execution, including in-person, virtual, hybrid, and on-demand formats as well as local, global and national sponsorships. This role supports executive leadership as an events advisor and strategist, working in partnership with Marketing, Sales and Client Service colleagues as well as across Staff and Operations teams. The role is responsible for both industry and hosted events as well as sponsorships and manages a global team of experienced meeting and event planners.
This role is located in our Global Headquarters in Johnston, RI. Candidates not local to the area are eligible for a company sponsored relocation package. This role requires 20-25% travel (predominantly domestic) based on business needs. Staff follow a hybrid in-office and home office working model when not traveling.
Responsibilities:
Develop, oversee, and implement an enterprise-wide meeting, event, and sponsorship strategy, annual plan, and budget to enable the achievement of the company’s objectives and KRAs, prioritizing high-impact opportunities and managing budgets and resource allocation in partnership with marketing leadership.
Oversee events measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports that leverage data, tools, and technology to forecast, measure, analyze and report on the impact of events. Ensure integration of event strategy into marketing strategy and collaborate across the marketing team to ensure there is an integrated pre-event, at-event, and post-event strategy and plan to increase engagement and impact and optimize synergies with account-based marketing activities.
Proactively engage with Sales and Operations to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of event activities on business goals. This includes designing and implementing scalable toolkits, providing access to and training for event tools and technology, and collaboratively planning, designing, and implementing playbooks and toolkits that ensure best-in-class experiences at scale through consultative and self-service models.
Partner to design and implement efficient and scalable planning and execution processes that leverage project management tools and ensure budget and resources are appropriately allocated across the team and partners.
Lead and manage teams of event professionals, and supervise the selection and management of partners to support implementation of the event and multimedia strategy.
Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree; CMP and/or CSEP preferred!
- 11-15 years of demonstrated leadership in event management in a B2B marketing environment, at least three (3) years’ experience in large scale corporate sponsorship programs preferred.
- 7-10 years of demonstrated people leadership strongly preferred.
- Experience being responsible for global teams delivering virtual, hybrid, and in-person events.
- Agency or event management company experience preferred.
- Strong relationship builder and trusted advisor to senior executives; strong consultative approach.
- Flexible with strong business sense; highly organized.
- Can learn and make decisions quickly and confidently in a fast-paced environment.
- Planning, budget and project management experience.
- Collaborative, empathetic leader focused on impact
The salary range for this position is $118,900 to $170,900 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
