This position offers the opportunity to showcase your analytical skills within the corporate Underwriting and Reinsurance department, ensuring FM Global continues operating compliantly in all licensed jurisdictions. You will develop your knowledge of the company’s core activity, underwriting, whilst developing and keeping abreast of system innovations that enhance the quality and reporting efficiency of the required data.
You will be working with a small team of company experts on the regulatory reporting of underwriting data. Within the team, you will have a high level of autonomy for completing the work assigned to you.
This position is for a data analyst responsible for identifying, securing, and submitting statutory data reports to insurance regulators around the world.
The analyst will manage their own portfolio of reports and generate ad hoc reports as needed. Using their understanding of FM Global group’s business, they will translate external regulatory reporting instructions into concepts that can be applied to FM Global group’s business; identify the appropriate data to be used; source, collect, assemble, and format the data using SQL, Access, and Excel; and submit the completed reports to the regulators.
As the company expert on regulatory underwriting reporting, you will require good collaborative skills to be able to guide and support colleagues within the corporate office and operations with their reporting responsibilities.
In addition to reporting, the analyst is responsible for activities associated with the successful production of statutory reports. This includes monitoring company systems, data bases, and data marts to ensure they contain the data required to produce statutory reports; leading internal projects; training; and other miscellaneous activities.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Expereince in Business, Math, Statistics or Operations Research helpful
- Industry experience is a plus
- 8 years’ experience in data related activities
- Advanced computer skills, strong abilities with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access)
- Advanced SQL skills highly desired!
