Mutual Boiler Re is currently seeking a Claims Examiner in our Malvern, PA headquarters. For nearly 140 years, Mutual Boiler Re has been a leading provider of equipment breakdown reinsurance and today has more than 250 treaty partnerships across North America.
This position will be responsible for coordination of prompt loss investigation and all other claims handling duties necessary to achieve equitable, fair and timely loss settlement of assigned equipment breakdown claims.
Responsibilities include claims handling activities, including but not limited to investigating and assisting the insured and/or partner company in loss mitigation activities on equipment breakdown property losses for commercial, farmowners and homeowner policies. Responsibilities may also include negotiating with the insured and/or partner company to reconcile any differences of opinion regarding the extent of loss and/or coverage; communicating all coverage decisions verbally and in writing to appropriate parties; providing claims training to our partner companies; all while maintaining a professional rapport with all concerned parties in an effort to provide delighted claims service.
Education: College degree or equivalent job experience
Experience: Two to five years of claim activity or equivalent responsibility
Skills/Knowledge: The ideal candidate should have knowledge of various property insurance coverages and forms; advanced computer knowledge (Word/Excel/Lotus Notes); mathematical aptitude; sound organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy; focus on quality, performance and customer service; professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills; good oral and written communication skills; good presentation skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
