Mutual Boiler Re, a division of FM Global, is seeking a full-time Equipment Breakdown Senior Underwriter in our Malvern, Pennsylvania headquarters. For more than 140 years, Mutual Boiler Re has been a leading provider of equipment breakdown reinsurance and today has more than 250 treaty partnerships across North America.
This position is responsible for underwriting medium to high exposure risks by providing timely and responsive new and renewal quotation within the underwriting guidelines of Mutual Boiler Re. This will be accomplished by identifying critical and important occupancy exposures, assessing overall risk quality, and establishing appropriate terms and conditions for all lines of Commercial business including Inland Marine and Shared & Layered. Responsibilities will also include establishing/maintaining effective working relationships with our clients’ underwriting staff and reviewing findings and creating action plans for targeted problem accounts. The Underwriter will also work closely with the Account Managers and Engineering staff to ensure a thorough understanding of relevant issues impacting our clients.
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience.
Skills/Knowledge: Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal, listening, organizational, written and oral communication skills. Must be analytical and detail oriented. Must have integrity and exhibit a team-oriented attitude while establishing trust and credibility. Able to process information quickly and apply it to current business situations.
This position can be remote based.
