Responsibilities:

This role will support our Chief Science Officer. 

Under minimum supervision, works independently using considerable judgment and initiative to handle all executive secretarial and administrative functions on behalf of a senior executive(s). This is an advanced working level for limited use at the highest levels of the organization. 

Anticipates and prepares materials needed by the senior executive for conferences, correspondence, appointments, meetings, telephone calls, etc. Summarizes the content of incoming materials, specially gathered information, or meetings to assist executive; coordinates the new information with background office sources; draws attention to important parts or issues. Anticipates ways in which executive time may be used most efficiently. 

Serves as the executive’s professional representative on administrative matters both internally and externally. Composes professional correspondence requiring knowledge of executive's views, philosophy, and some understanding of technical matters; may sign for executive when technical or policy content has been authorized. 

Handles details of a confidential nature, and performs administrative functions based on understanding of company policy, executive's views and philosophy, which can be assumed by this level of administrative assistant.

Handles a wide variety of situations involving the clerical and administrative function of the office which often cannot be brought to the attention of the executive. 

Schedules appointments for executive; arranges travel schedule and reservations and resolves scheduling conflict based on executive priorities. 

Reads outgoing administrative correspondence for executive approval and alerts writers to any departure from policies or executive's viewpoints; gives advice to resolve the problem. 

Assists in the development of the immediate work group's budget, business planning, and related planning functions.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; college preferred! 

8+ years of administrative/executive secretarial experience supporting senior management; internal company knowledge preferred 

Technical Knowledge:

· Thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as indicated by the position

The salary range for this position is $55,500 to $79,700 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
