Testimonial

I PLAY A PART IN BUILDING A BRIGHT FUTURE THAT CAN WEATHER ANY STORM.

Many times, the safety of entire communities is influenced by our work. On one project in Florida, I worked with a client to make sure a critical 911 communications facility would be operable during and after a Category 5 hurricane. Advising them on things like how to protect vital generator systems and helping them make costeffective design decisions, I had a hand in building something truly substantial. In the end, our client was happy to have a partner that understood and worked with them to meet their unique needs.

More information about this job:

Overview:

FM Global is a leading property insurer of the world's largest businesses, providing more than one-third of FORTUNE 1000-size companies with engineering-based risk management and property insurance solutions. FM Global helps clients maintain continuity in their business operations by drawing upon state-of-the-art loss-prevention engineering and research; risk management skills and support services; tailored risk transfer capabilities; and superior financial strength. To do so, we rely on a dynamic, culturally diverse group of employees, working in more than 100 countries, in a variety of challenging roles.

Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for risk identification, assessment, improvement, and ongoing loss prevention consulting services. This ensures the development and growth of a profitable portfolio of business in an assigned territory that is consistent with Corporate/Affiliated FM policies, business strategies and objectives.

This is accomplished through proper identification, evaluation and quantification of risk characteristics and exposures at the location level, and the overall assessment of account risk quality at the corporate level. This involves the allocation and management of both internal and external engineering resources to obtain required location based risk information. The next step is to assess the nature, magnitude and probability of loss, and determine the location risk characteristics that have the greatest impact on profitability.

Professional consulting is provided to Insureds on loss exposure and prevention issues, project management, and the management of change. Additionally, focus is placed on priority risk improvement measures that have the greatest impact on loss frequency and severity. This involves helping Insureds understand their exposures to loss and the potential impact on their business, recognizing the Insured’s risk tolerance level, and then creatively developing practical, cost-effective solutions that are mutually acceptable.

An Account Engineer demonstrates initiative and teamwork, and sound judgment and decision-making skills. Solid performance in all areas of accountability, working independently and with “hands-on” management support, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical, judgment, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Efficient time management ability and organizational skills
  • Solid technical aptitude, including diverse knowledge of engineering principles
  • Strong consulting in sales and negotiation
  • Great teammate!

We offer our employees a wide range of benefits including career long learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, 401 (k), pension, flexible schedules, rich health and well-being programs, generous time off allowances, volunteer days and so much more!

FM Global is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce.
