We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual for the position of Business Development Executive within our Sales Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the prospecting of new business opportunities for Paris Operations, both on a direct basis and with our broker partners. The role will focus on the development of a strategic and long-term prospect funnel to ensure consistent and profitable premium growth for Paris Operations through strong operational engagement within our FM Global Client Service & Sales Process.

A key element of this position is to conduct research and business analysis of prospects and Markets to understand and verify their specific needs, operations, key decision makers and competitive offerings. 

Candidates with previous sales and/or client service experience are preferred for this position, although candidates without this will be considered. Training in tactical and strategic selling to analyze customer needs, develop solid client service plans, negotiate, and gain customer commitment will be provided. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an inherent sales ability and strong interpersonal skills, as well as strengths in planning and organizing their workload.

A solid understanding of FM Global engineering products and services and their anticipated role in a client’s risk management strategy will be required. Strong knowledge of our wider products and services will also be required, including FM Global insurance coverages and policy wordings, and underwriting and pricing guidelines. Appropriate training can be provided if needed, however an existing knowledge of such topics is preferable and will be a clear advantage.

A successful Business Development Executive knows how to best integrate business issues into a financially sound analysis that illustrates the key elements of a corporation’s risk management strategy.  As such applicants should demonstrate knowledge of, or at least a definite interest in, business and finance as well as the risk management process.

Key to the successful acquisition of new business is the ability to work in an effective team with FM Global account managers, engineers and other colleagues and take a strong leadership role in the Sales Process and development of appropriate strategies and action plans. Personal drive and self-motivation will be essential to be successful in this exciting role. Complete business fluency in English is a pre-requisite for this position to ensure effective verbal and written communication of facts, ideas, reports and presentations.
