FM Global’s Client Service Department has an immediate opening for a dynamic Account Manager in the Toronto office. This position will perform insurance servicing and underwriting activities on existing accounts, underwriting of new business, and is responsible for overall account team leadership.  This position's primary function is to serve as the Account Team Leader or Manager of the Account.  This position serves as the key/primary interface with clients/brokers on all aspects of the account including insurance products and services, engineering and claims services. 


  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and brokers to successfully create long-term customer loyalty to FM Global, including significant number of face-to-face meetings with senior client personnel.
  • Leading an Account Team to support the strategic goals and objectives of our clients by providing professional advice and consultation on insurance coverage and risk management matters.
  • Ensuring stability by retaining existing customers at equitable terms and conditions using FM Global significant insurance capacity in conjunction with our risk management expertise to improve client risk quality and selling additional product lines as appropriate.
  • Work closely with New Business Development Executives on new prospects within the Client Service process, contributing high quality underwriting expertise to win new client accounts.
  • Responsible for understanding and implementing company underwriting guidelines and standards in the daily management of assigned clients.
  • Executing global insurance placement programs for our clients.
  • Demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement by effective engagement of our clients in our Client Service Process and ensuring clients are aware of our full range of products and services.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably Engineering or Business)
  • 2+ years Insurance and/or Property Loss Prevention Experience Preferred
  • Experience with Mining, Power Generation, and/or Pulp and Paper an asset
  • Knowledge of the FMGA Policy wording an asset

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated above average ability in organization, problem solving, sales/negotiation, leadership and team building skills.
  • Working knowledge of property insurance and forms, financial statements, general loss prevention engineering terms and concepts as well as business computer applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems and Microsoft Office Products.
